The Evidence Support Team are a dedicated group of qualified and experienced Information Specialists. We are here to support members and staff of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in developing the evidence base crucial for informing your work, training, and practice. We also offer services to external partners to advance excellence in patient care and evidence-based practice.
We provide a comprehensive literature search service tailored to the needs of members and staff of RCS England. Our skilled Information Specialists are available to conduct literature searches on your behalf or offer one-to-one training appointments for those who prefer to conduct their own searches. Choose from our search options, including Quick Search, Comprehensive Search, or Search to support Systematic Review. This service is accessible to all members, fellows, and staff at the College.
The Specialty Updates service provides concise and informative email summaries of the latest evidence in a particular surgical field. Our Updates are designed to support surgeons in staying up-to-date with the most recent evidence, guidelines, and advancements in their respective specialties. A highly-rated membership benefit, the Updates are sent to subscribing fellows and members every two months.
Our team provides training, information and support around finding and using evidence and information. Members can benefit from personalised one-to-one training sessions, while staff can request tailored departmental inductions or presentations.
